Easter Holidays in Tuscany

This year in most European countries schools will be closed for Easter Holidays at the beginning of April. If you are fed up with your local weather in this period you may consider to spend a week in Tuscany. In this period the weather is generally nice and spring temperatures are mild, around 17-21 degrees with peaks of 25 degrees. This means that this period is ideal to go and explore Tuscany.

Garfagnana, bridge over the Serchio river
Consider a stay in the north of Tuscany in the green mountains of the Lunigiana or Garfagnana area, in the Arno valley near Arezzo, Florence or Pisa, or more south near Siena or in the Maremma area near Grosseto.  Also the areas with prevailing wine production with their beautiful hilly landscapes like Chianti, Montalcino and Montepulciano are worth visiting.

You can take advantage of low or mid season prices for your plane tickets, car rental and for countryside accomodation, except for short stays around Easter.
Montepulciano, Saint Biagio Church
From several European airports round trip plane tickets to the Tuscan airports of Pisa or Florence or to the Umbrian airport of Perugia are available at less than 100,00 euro per person. Car rental is available at around 160,00 euro per week.
You can find comfortable self-catering accomodation in a countryside relais or farmhouse holidays in a flat or cottage with one bedroom at around 300,00 euro for a couple or in a 2-bedroom apartment at around 450,00 euro for a family with 2 children.

Arezzo, Piazza Grande
A quick calculation tells you that with a budget of about 600,00 euro for 2 persons or 900,00 euro for a family of 4 you're off for an entire week to one of Europe's most wanted destinations, Tuscany.

Now that you figured out that a trip to Tuscany is very well affordable, you can find out on our blog which places you'd really want to visit.
